If you have physical access to any PC or server on the network that does have internet access then it would be relatively easy depending upon whether the BIOS is password protected (usually easily overcome) and whether you can boot the PC/Server from a USB, CD, or DVD but now your getting into the realms of doing something illegal just for the sake of accessing the internet.Īt the end of the day, there may be ways to do it, but all of them will cause you to lose your job if your are caught.Īs has already been said, when you're at work your time is better spent working, and be warned that if you do find a way around it you'll probably lose your job. 'Your Internet Access is Blocked' Feature Request I would like to suggest they provide the actual codes returned from a server, because as far as I can tell when I get this message what it really is saying is 'The server you are trying to connect to is unavailable' since my internet access is manifestly not blocked as I can go to many other websites, just not the one that has been slammed by. There's a good chance they have only blocked your IP from connecting via port-80-out (lazy admin), so there are several alternatives available such as using a proxy on a different port, or remotely connecting to another PC or server that does have internet access, but you'd have to do a bit of exploring first to see if you can figure out what sort of rules they have applied, and the success of that would depend upon what sort of monitoring the admin has set up and whether you would be easily caught. Depends upon how your administrator has set-up the rules and how sneaky (experienced!) they are.
